The traditional lotus seed paste filling of Hong Kong MX Mooncakes sometimes gives way to a more innovative creamy lava custard filling and crispy crust. It is the result of a double baking technique using top quality savory egg yolks and premium ingredients to achieve the lava custard consistency.
Lava custard mooncakes promise an elevated experience when they are reheated in a microwave oven and cut in half to reveal the golden custard melting from the core.
IT’S SPIDER-MAN!
The newest addition to the Hong Kong MX mooncake collection, released for this Mooncake Festival, is the Marvel – Spider-Man Tokachi Red Bean Mooncake in a special cylindrical gift box adorned with the face of Spider-Man. The can has a hidden mechanism in the lid that can project the face of Spider-Man, and—what do you know?—each of the four mooncakes in the can is embossed with the superhero icon!
