GOOD news for residents of Fairview, Quezon City, and its neighboring areas: Ayala Malls has just brought medium- to upscale shopping to the community via its newest and one of its biggest integrated developments, Fairview Terraces.
Officially unveiled by Ayala Land Inc. and Ellimac Prime Holdings Inc. last Friday, February 28, 2014, Fairview Terraces is conveniently located along Quirino Highway corner Maligaya Drive in Barangay Pasong Putik, Novaliches, Quezon City. It’s a lifestyle hub situated on a 5.8-hectare land that is at the center of the bustling residential and commercial sprawl of Quezon City’s 200,000-household community. Designed in Ayala Malls’ signature spirit of lush green settings, the mall is peppered with lush, verdant gardens that allow shoppers to stop and smell the flowers or sit back, relax and take a breather in their own piece of paradise. Some 13 trees have been preserved by the mall development, and one of them, a mango tree, even stands right in the center of Fairview Terraces’ Central Garden, which lends a calm atmosphere of vertical greens, sprawling canopies, lively landscapes and flourishing fountains at the heart of the mall.
Located around the Central Garden are delightful and varied dining choices, such as Army Navy, Banapple, Chili’s, Clucky’s, Crisostomo Restaurant, Johnny Rockets, KhanzuManam, Marciano’s, Max’s Restaurant, Pancake House, Project Pie, Recipes, Sumosam, TGIF and Wee Nam Kee.
There is also the Terrace Gardens at the fifth level of the mall, which shall be home to such restaurants as Fantasia Café, Wingstop, Khanzu and Clucky’s, offering al fresco dining in an environment romanticized by a lush curtain of greens.
When it comes to shopping, Fairview Terraces captures the heart and soul of the community and brings with it the very best that Ayala Land can offer. It is teeming with retail, dining and entertainment options, and its retail options, for one, mix strong local assortments with popular foreign brands. It has a rich variety of merchant mix, with over 420 merchants to match the vibrant lifestyle of Fairview shoppers, including the young crowd, families an professionals.
Providing convenient grocery shopping is the supermarket chain Puregold, and for its department store, Fairview Terraces offers Wellworth, the maiden joint venture of Ayala Land Inc. and Stores Specialists Inc. Free-standing retail outlets and service shops in the mall are also a combination of tried and tested brands and new concepts.
Firsts in Ayala Malls include fashion brands Camaeiu, Shana, Basic House, Dune and Alera Couture, the Fishman restaurant, the specialty shop Supreme Celebrations, and service stores Brow Lounge, Beauty and Butter, French Tips and Sports Barber.
Brow Lounge, for one, is an eyebrow grooming and waxing salon.
Beauty and Butter, which introduces a whole new nail care experience to the Metro Manila crowd, renders facial, nail care and basic spa services with the latest industry techniques in a fun and creative environment. Incidentally, it is owned by actor-politician Alfred Vargas and his lovely wife, whom we met last Friday (February 28, 2014) during Ayala Malls’ media launch held at Crisostomo Restaurant, graced by Ayala Malls’ managements team – Ayala Land Inc. president and CEO Tony Aquino, EVP and COO Bobby Dee, VP and head of operations, Commercial Business Group, Rowena Tomeldan, and head of strategic planning Cora Dizon – after which members of media were taken on a tour of the mall.
Our tour included different stores, both new and old, retail shops and service salons.
First stop was Officiné Shoes & Bags, which specializes in shoes and bags, with special emphasis on women.
Next, the tour segued to beauty services, stopping over at Dermcare Luxe, whose services include different types of facials (including Diamond Power Peel and eyebag treatment), body pampering massages and spa treatments, hair treatments and special spa services for men.
Then we proceeded to Beauty & Butter, the Vargas couple’s facial, nail care and basic spa services business. It also carries impressive lines of nail polish (OPI, Orly, Ruby Wing and Zoya brands), face and hand care products (Iskin and Dermatopoeitin brands from the United States), and its own spa products (facial toners, lotions, soaps and heel creams) that have been dermatologist tested and approved.
Just next door to Beauty & Butter is Brow Lounge, a highly specialized eyebrow grooming and waxing salon. Services include brow shaping, tidying, tinting and rehab; hair removal using 100% anti-microbial cotton thread targeted at specific parts of the face , fingers and underarms; lash extensions; and sugaring or waxing to remove unwanted hair from different parts of the face and body using sugar, lemon and water.
Standing next to Brow Lounge is another highly specialized shop called Lavish Lashes Studio for professional eyelash extensions.
From beauty and spa services, the mall tour took a turn towards furniture and furnishings with a stopover at Victoria Mondiale. It was a haven for luxurious living room sets, exquisite chairs, dining tables, floor lamps, chandeliers and décor.
It was fashion and accessories time as the group made its way down to the Skechers and Adidas stores.
The Skechers store had a comprehensive display of the brand’s sports shoes (its newest line even comes with Memory Foam) as well as GOwalk2 walking shoes with V-Stride technology (unique angled outsole that complements a natural walking gait and promotes fluid stride transitions), Four-way Engineered Stability Stretch mesh (in front for greater flexibility and comfort and side panels for lateral support), Quick-Fit Portal on heels for easy on and easy off convenience, Integrated OrthoLite anti-microbial sockliner that helps inhibit odor and prevent slippage so the wearer can go sockless, and Resalyte Midsole (proprietary lightweight injection-molded compound with memory retention to help absorb impact).
The Adidas store, meanwhile, carries top lines of Adidas shoes and apparel, including those for basketball, running, training and football. Although the Adidas range of products will also be available in other stores at Fairview Terraces, specifically Planet Sports and Rookie, the Adidas store offers the most comprehensive selections of the brand.
Fashion accessories and trinkets followed with visits to the Funky Fish and Claire’s stores.
Funky Fish, a concept store which originated in Spain, carries a wide range of bags, necklaces, wallets, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, bangles, scarves, pompom hats, hair accessories, tags, organizers, clocks, mirrors, phone and tablet accessories, and other gifts guaranteed to keep young people happily busy.
Claire’s, which originated from Illinois, is another young girls’ paradise, being a retailer of accessories and jewelry, plus phone cases, hats and scarves, bags and purses, makeup items, umbrellas, stationery and gift suggestions.
Last stop was at Puregold for anyone who wanted to go grocery shopping. Puregold, which is a fast-growing supermarket chain today, offers practical superstore solutions for discerning shoppers with its low-priced goods and wide merchandise selections.
On top of its comprehensive dining options and retail shops, which include all the exquisite shopping havens mentioned above, Fairview Terraces also houses state-of-the-art cinemas and an expansive Activity Center that serves as an events place for concerts, meet-and-greets, launches and other special events.
The mixed use development also includes Fairview Residences with a Roof Garden on the topmost level as well as Fairview Terraces Corporate Center, which shall transform into the most desired office address for young, urban professionals and flourishing businesses this side of the Metro when it finally opens in mid-2014.
The time has come for the North to shine!
