FREEDOM. Sweet freedom. It’s what our forefathers fought for, and it’s what we celebrate every June 12, Independence Day. So it’s only fitting that establishments like Richmonde Hotel Ortigas put together a celebration like no other when this historic moment comes, and this time it urges everyone to raise up the Philippine flag and let our patriotism soar as we celebrate Independence Day 2014 with a feisty feast of proudly Pinoy specialties called Taste of Freedom Filipino Buffet.
Taking place today (June 9), tomorrow (June 10) and on June 11 and 13 at the Richmonde Café, Taste of Freedom Filipino Buffet presents a parade of cuisines from different parts of the archipelago.
The gastronomic celebration began today with a culinary road trip around Luzon, with the buffet spread featuring dishes from Ilocos to Pampanga to Bicol and places in between. These included Pinakbet, Dinakdakan, Sinugba, Bulalo, Pancit Habhab, Lomi, Bringhe and Laing.
Tomorrow, June 10, the buffet goes Visayan with favorites such as La Paz Batchoy, Adobo sa Dilaw, Chicken Binakol, Laswa with Pinakas, Apan-apan and Sinugba.
On Wednesday, June 11, Taste of Freedom Filipino Buffet highlights the dynamic Mindanao culture, with gourmet staples like Chicken Molo Soup, Ginataang Manok, Beef Rendang, Pinangat sa Gabi, Satti and Pyanggang Manok.
Skip Independence Day itself and jump over to Friday, June 13, when the hotel rolls out a buffet spread of the best of all three major islands of the Philippines for an explosion of flavors. Dishes with a festive vibe take center stage, including Kinilaw, Kare-Kare, Sisig, Bicol Express, Rellenong Manok, Embotido, Paksiw and Lechon.
