IT’S your party—be it your birthday, debut, wedding, anniversary or your first-born’s baptism—and you want it to be the dream event that you’ve always wanted it to be. Perfectly executed down to the smallest details… Nothing should go wrong. The food and the setup, particularly, should be impeccable. So you entrust the event to a tried and tested professional caterer like Hizon’s Catering, which is backed by decades of experience and a record of successful events.
In the business since 1987, Hizon’s Catering has catered for all kinds of events, whether casual or formal, buffet or a la carte, with all sorts of themes to choose from for each type of event, and a variety of menu selections that guarantee a unique gastronomic experience both for the event organizers and for the guests.
“We have really good food. We invest a lot in our equipment as well as in developing the menu and the preparation of the dishes. We make everything from scratch. As part of our culture, we don’t allow instant food and flavorings in our kitchens,” assures Hizon’s Catering general manager Joseph Hizon.
He adds: “We are not the cheapest but you get a lot for what you pay for. We give good value. That’s what we are known for. We take care of everything. Aside from the usual food, tables, chairs and waiter service, we can also handle the amenities. These are the small things that you don’t want to bother with, such as a bridal car or hotel accommodation. We have a team of event planners, and an event planner is assigned to every client to coordinate all the detail. It’s like an added service on our part.”
To showcase just what it can do, Hizon’s Catering recently hosted a quadruple bash exclusively for bloggers at the Pavilion of Oasis Manila. A different party occupied each of the four corners of the venue—Formal Wedding, Corporate Seminar for breakfast, Circus-themed Children’s Party, and Awards Night.
The Formal Wedding featured a hefty buffet made up of Truffle Mushroom Soup, Peach Mango Salad with Candied Walnuts and Smoked Salmon, Baked Fish Stuffed with Spinach and Tomato, Beef Salpicao with Grilled Vegetables and Mashed Potato, and Chicken Sambal. Highlight of the Wedding corner was the carving station, which offered Slow-roasted Beef with Hickory BBQ Sauce and Classic Mushroom Gravy and Thrice-cooked Pork Belly with Cilantro Salsa.
The Corporate Seminar was a simple, no-frills breakfast seminar setup. Since it is a breakfast affair, food centered on an omelette cooking station, with offered filling choices such as mushrooms, ham, tomatoes, onion, bell pepper, bacon, shrimps, olives, chicken pesto and spinach. Guests of such an event can have their favorite omelette made on the spot, choosing the fillings that they want to go into their respective omelettes. The omelette goes very well with bread—Baguettes and Focaccia—and either coffee or teas.
The Circus-themed Children’s Party was a big hit, as it appealed to the child within each person, whether a kid or a kid-at-heart. Complimenting this corner’s colorful setup and fun and relaxed ambiance was a wide array of delicious finger food for tots, including Bacon-wrapped Cocktail Hotdog with Sweet BBQ Sauce, Fries with Thousand Island Dressing, Mini Pizzas, Nachos and Red Velvet Cupcakes, with a Juice Bar serving Lychee, Cucumber and Blue Lemonade.
The fourth corner was devoted to an all-glam Awards Night, where hors d’oeuvres were passed around for guests to enjoy—Tempura Rolls, Argentinian Steak Canapes, Candied Bacon Canapes, Tomato and Basil Confit in Skewers, Crispy Beef Ssam Fresh Spring Rolls and Smoked Salmon Caviar Crème Pops. An elegant dessert bar stood in a corner, offering irresistible goodies such as Vanilla Crème Brulee, Sunken Island, Peach Egg Tart, Flourless Chocolate Cake and Mango Vanilla Panna Cotta.
Hizon’s Catering’s very able kitchen team, headed by Chef Simon Dayrit, whipped up all these sumptuous concoctions.
The four event corners provided not just a glimpse but a taste of what Hizon’s Catering had to offer.
