THE Christmas season is the most wonderful time of the year, and City of Dreams Manila makes it even more enthralling with its exciting lineup of activities and Christmas and New Year’s offerings.


Love that jolly, white-bearded man in red suit from the North Pole? Well, Santa Claus is in town! Kids and kids-at-heart get the meet and greet him at his log cabin at City of Dreams Manila all weekends of December and on Christmas Day itself, December 25, 2017. He is in his usual jolly mood, giving away holiday goodie bags with Snickers chocolate bars at the main entrance. So catch him!

The Tasting Room reopens just in time to serve diners this Christmas, and with its reopening, it introduces its new chef de cuisine Frederic Thevenet from Michelin-star restaurants in Europe and the United States.

Chef Frederic, along with Maitre D’ Stephen Moroney are set to captivate guests with a Michelin dining experience via a five-course holiday dinner degustation menu—Foie Gras Terrine with Sangria Jelly, Papaya Chutney, Coco Bean Puree, and Brioche (appetizer); Pollock with Pomelo, Mango, Pear and Mâche, Watercress and Emmenthal (salad); Spinach Ravioli with Egg Yolk, Black Truffle, Bordelaise, Green Beans and Parma Ham (pasta); Beef Tenderloin with Kohlrabi, Lentils and Bone Marrow (main entrée); and Chestnut Parfait Infused with Clementine (dessert).

Available from December 24 to 31, 2017, the Christmas and New Year Tasting Menu is priced at Php5,588++ per cover.


An exclusive seven-course Omakase menu is available on New Year’s Eve, December 31, while a brunch buffet has been laid out for Christmas Eve (December 24) as well as New Year’s Eve (December 31) from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Nobu Manila’s Nobu Restaurant.

For the Christmas Eve brunch buffet, the carving station will offer Roasted Wagyu Leg and Baked Salmon with Honey Truffle, while premium items on the buffet spread shall include Roasted Kabotcha with Maple Miso Butter, Scallop Okonomiyaki and Nobu-Style Uni Palabok. To complement these are pass-around items, such as Baked Mussels in Truffle Butter, Chicken Lollipops with Sweet Soy Anticucho and Rock Shrimp Tempura Creamy Spicy Sauce, plus the season’s freshest catch of sushi and special sashimi. A Christmas-themed dessert spread will aptly conclude the hearty feast.

For the New Year’s Eve brunch buffet on December 31, highlight will be Rosemary Miso Crusted Prime Rib and Baked Whole Ham Leg, along with an assortment of grilled Kushiyaki skewers. Diners can also sample hot buffet items such as the restaurant’s signature Black Cod Miso and other top favorites like Braised Shortrib Sliders, Yaki Udon and Roasted Sweet Potato with Truffle Quinoa. Pass-around specials include Soft Shell Crab with Truffle Aioli, Washu Beef and Baked Mussels with Uni Butter.

The New Year’s Eve Omakase dinner lets guests relish seven of Nobu Manila’s scrumptious courses: a Zensai of Senbei Chip and Quinoa Poke, followed by Toro Tartar, Ossetra Caviar, Wasabi Soy Kumamoto Oyster New York Salsa Duo; a Nigiri platter of Toro, Japanese Saba, Shrimp, Uni and Japanese Hirame; a sashimi trio comprising Hamachi Jalapeño, Unagi Harumaki and Hotate Ratatouille; Norway Salmon Sashimi Salad with Ikura and Spicy Lemon Dressing; Pan-seared Sea Bass with Truffle Dashi Broth and Seasonal Mushrooms; Wagyu Beef Croquette with Foie Gras Ganache and Smoked Cauliflower Puree; and Valrhona Mint Lava Cake with Rosé Granita and Vanilla Bean Ice Cream.

The brunch buffet for both December 24 and 31 is priced at Php3,880++ per cover. To include the standard alcohol beverage lineup, add Php990++. Diners may also opt for the premium Champagne package at Php1,990++.


Families and friends can celebrate Christmas at City of Dreams Manila’s premium Cantonese-style fine dining restaurant Crystal Dragon by ordering a seven- or eight-course Christmas set menu for lunch (12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m.) or dinner (6:00 to 11:00 p.m.) at Php1,988++ and Php2,388++, respectively.

Set Menu A consists of Pan-fried Fragrant Glutinous Rice Served in Abalone Sauce, Steamed Cod Fish with Back Garlic Sauce and Garden Greens, and Chilled Sweetened Mango Sphere with Pan-fried Soft Skin Ube.

Set Menu B is made up of Minced Turkey in Golden Cup with Seafood Platter, Braised E Fu Noodles with Chinese Cabbage, Mushrooms and Lobster Tails, and Creamy Custard Croquette with Kumquat Compote.

Aside from its best-sellers, which diners are sure to order during the Christmas season, Red Ginger offers a limited-time holiday a la carte selection from December 16 to 31. A good choice is the Red Ginger Sampler of Malaysian Style “Otak Otak,” Lemongrass Chicken Skewers, Tuna Salad Roll, and Sesame Crispy Prawn Toast, which offers a feast for the senses along with Wagyu Beef Phad Thai and Ayam Kodok (Indonesian Style Slow-roasted Chicken).


Wave restaurant beckons with a sumptuous barbecue buffet spread featuring grilled dishes and a variety of Eastern and Western dishes by the poolside during the weekly Sunday barbecue dinner at the restaurant on all Sundays of December.
