TOKYO Tokyo, the Japanese fast-food chain that made Japanese cuisine affordable to Filipinos, was one of the first to offer authentic Japanese ramen in the metro when it opened its first Ramen Bar at TriNoma Mall in 2012. Is initial ramen offerings—Braised Pork Ramen, Spicy Chicken Ramen and Tempura Miso Ramen—were big hits.
Just recently, Tokyo Tokyo solidified its hold on the Japanese ramen market when it introduced two new additions to its ramen line. These Specialty Ramen variants are Chicken Teriyaki Ramen and Spicy Pork Ramen.
Made with pork broth that has been slow-cooked for 24 hours to bring out the natural flavors of the bones, the Chicken Teriyaki Ramen and the Spicy Pork Ramen come with freshly made noodles and high-quality toppings such as corn kernels, shredded cabbage, chopped onion leeks, nori and half boiled egg in a bowl of hot, steaming pork broth. The Chicken Teriyaki Ramen has delicious grilled chicken glazed with Tokyo Tokyo’s signature teriyaki sauce for its topping, while the Spicy Pork Ramen combines spicy ground pork and tender pork slices for its own topping.
Both new variants are available at Php190 for the Regular size and Php140 for the Snack size.
“We wanted to bring new flavors with unique but familiar tastes while at the same time being able to maintain the ramen line’s value for money proposition, especially for the rainy season,” explains Tokyo Tokyo product manager Harvie Sering when the new dishes were unveiled at Tokyo Tokyo’s new store at Venice Piazza in Taguig City.
Incidentally, this new store sports Tokyo Tokyo’s new store design with a modern minimalist look. There are Japanese elements, such as geishas, on the wall. So with illustrations of iconic Tokyo landmarks, such as temples, the bullet train, the Shibuya Crossing and the Imperial Palace. For the interiors, the new store design has medium-height wooden tables and chairs, paneled ceilings and low-hanging Japanese lighting accents to give the place a truly Japanese ambiance.
Tokyo Tokyo also took advantage of the occasion to introduce its first ever Dessert Bar, which consists of a number of Japanese-inspired desserts. These are light and airy Japanese Matcha Cheesecake, decadent Hazelnut Crepes, rich and luscious Dark Chocolate Mousse, light Fruit Crème and Lychee Jelly, warm Oreo Cookie Tempura Ala Mode, flaky Croughnuts and chewy Japanese Pon de Ring.
These delicious sweet bites go very well with Tokyo Tokyo’s freshly brewed coffee preparations, such as Café Latte, Cappuccino and Iced Mocha, and are initially available at Tokyo Tokyo’s Venice Piazza store.
