Tatatito’s Recommends
Meatless Options for Lent

Tatatito Filipino Home Kitchen’s Sweet n’ Sour Camaron

IT’S Lent, and everybody’s looking for meatless dishes to enjoy. More so now that the Lenten season has reached its highlight, which is Holy Week. Fasting, or abstaining from meat as a form of sacrifice, has become all the more important. But who says going meatless has to be boring?

Tatatito Filipino Home Kitchen, the newest food venture of the Mc Wilson Food Group which recently opened in Makati City, suggests a wide selection of meat-free dishes on its menu that are Lent-friendly.

For appetizers, which can also serve as light snacks, Tatatito’s meat-free options include the crispy Shrimp Okoy and the light and healthy Squash Croquettas, which are perfect with a glass of refreshing Tatatito Iced Tea.

Lemongrass Clam Soup

For those who like having soup with their meal, Tatatito’s recommends its hearty soups, Sinigang sa Miso Salmon and Lemongrass Clam Soup.

Deep-fried Lapu-Lapu Pomelo

Adobong Baby Pusit

Bistek Bangus

Adobong Kangkong

Among the mains, Mc Wilson Food Group president Reagan Tan suggests Deep Fried Lapu-Lapu with Pomelo, Adobong Baby Pusit, Sweet n’ Sour Camaron, Bistek Bangus, Tuna Belly Inasal, Adobong Kangkong, Ginisang Ampalaya and Mushrooms, and Salted Egg Sitaw.

Tatatito’s most popular signature dish, Bamboo Rice, is also highly recommended. It features flavored rice cooked inside a bamboo for that unique flavor. It comes in three variants, and one of them, the Squash & Crab, is completely free of red meat.

But while all of these meat-free options are great for the Lenten season, which culminates this Holy Week, the fact that they are available all year long at Tatatito’s should come as a welcome surprise.

(Tatatito Filipino Home Kitchen is located at the Ground Floor of OPL Building, 100 Don Carlos Palanca St., Legaspi Village, Makati City. For online orders, call 0991-3005000 or order through GrabFood and foodpanda.)
